It put the gay agenda on hyperdrive, it garnered huge sympathy for gay couples,
and it severely tested the personal and professional relationships of thousands of LDS men and women who live and work with openly gay people seeking to have their marriages recognized.
If it created a great relationship with other religions, great. However, that was not the objective pitched from the pulpit and membership made a lot of sacrifices that will continue to be felt for years to come.
