I'm not saying players didn't misbehave...

... I'm saying that the consequences were meted out, but generally never found their way into the public limelight. (Example: 1 player's girlfriend became pregnant. They married and he "redshirted" the next season. The fans and media never knew. They just knew he got married and redshirted.)
