if the defender tips a pass, while the offense has team control and front court has already been established, and then the offense touches that ball in the front court and is also the first to touch again in the backcourt, it is a violation.

There must be team control in the front court however, so during a throw in there is no front court possession, or during a rebound there is no team control. Team control remains during an interrupted dribble or when a pass is deflected. You do not need player control to retain team control. When a pass is tipped or a dribble lost, team control remains and can still be called for backcourt or 3 in the key.
