The following are rules that are being considered and I would like to see changed.
1. The shot clock is going to 30 seconds. I think that is a fair number for the college game. The women are already using it.
2. Adopt the NBA rule that once you advance the ball into the front court you cannot pass it into the back court on an inbounds play. Reward the defensive team for good defense.
3. Have a total of 10 seconds to advance the ball to the front court. If you call a time out the time does not reset. Again, rewards good defense.
4. Move the three point shot back to the FIBA distance of 22 ft 1 in. The shot has become to easy. It was moved back in 2007 and it is time to move it again at the college level.
5. Not allow teams to huddle for a timeout after a player fouls out. Keep them on the court and force the coach to substitute immediately.
6. Find a better end of game scenario. This has been tweeked over the years but still remains a problem. One solution would be that any fouls in the last two minutes (common fouls) the team gets one shot and the ball out of bounds. This would only apply if they are in the double bonus.
