performance. And, yes, I agree that any other school he would not last this long. But, how many coaches do? There are a handful of top tier coaches that remain at their job. Les Miles, Nick Saban, these guys have tenure and probably will leave when they want to. Look at Whittingham - he seems to have his name on the chopping block every other year but he is still there as long as Bronco has been. Maybe it's a regional thing - Utah might be a more "stable" place.
But Notre Dame has been through a few coaches the past decade. Nebraska. UCLA. Michigan. It just seems to be a "grass is greener" kind of profession, with the annual merry-go-round that starts in late November.
So, why blame BYU for not getting on that ride? My point? The grass is not always greener.
