But Nothing you mentioned explains why a program like Boise State (Who was a Div 3 school not long ago) has left us in the dust, or why USU has all but closed the gap, or why we've lost 5 straight to the yewts. Inferior programs with less tradition and resources are improving and BUU has stayed stagnant.
Yes, all the things you mentioned matter. But coaching has and always will be the difference. And we have seen our ceiling with Bronco.
Like I said, I don't expect perfection - national championships and top 10 finishes are not expectations I've ever had. But I do expect improvement, I expect progression, and it's been awhile. I don't see Bronco making any changes that give me reason to believe that will change.
Bronco set his own standard, publicly stated multiple times that his goal is to have his team playing for NC's and top 10 finishes. he has some nice wins against prestigious schools that barely finished the season .500, and usually wins the games he should. But The downward trend the last 3 years has been pretty clear.
