Also, I see people saying the revenue from a potential championship game could more than offset the difference from expansion, but I don't think that's sound reasoning, since the forthcoming deregulation will allow the conference to hold a championship game with 10 if it wants to anyway, which would be even more money for the existing schools. The only way the championship game factors into expansion is if the conference decided that it didn't want to hold one with only 10 schools.
