I agree that BYU is almost certainly the best value proposition of available candidates, but you don't get to the "bottom line" just by subtracting what they're currently paying BYU, you have to consider the value of the inventory as well (i.e. what their expenditure is going to do to make them money). By your analysis ESPN could greatly reduce their "bottom line" by terminating all their contracts so they didn't have to pay any conference anything, firing everyone and closing up shop, but that's obviously not what we're talking about.
