Yes, they will spend more money on BYU if they're in the Big12

But the argument is that overall they will be saving money if the Big12 adds BYU over another team. This is a dumb argument to get worked up over because your argument is correct and so is what everyone else has been saying.

The more logical argument is that if the Big12 is expanding no matter what, then ESPN will save money by having BYU in the Big12 rather than having to pay for another team added to the Big12 and still pay BYU its Indy TV deal.
