Bronco apparently has "immense pride" by which you mean arrogance, and Anae is to stubborn to even call a crossing route that would apparently have won the game in Michigan. So based on your own words it's unthinkable that either man would relent.
But you know what does fit the known facts and the statements by both men? That Anae left on his own and came back when asked by Bronco. The fact that he came back virtually the day Reynolds retired, and that it was well known that Reynolds and Anae didn't like each other is pretty clear evidence of where the problem was.
Also - although well established rumor - it is not a fact that Bronco asked Anae to submit his resume. That comes from a person who was actually asked to submit his resume.
