I've searched and found nothing on the internet where BYU or anyone connected with the football program announced that Howell had to take a pay cut when he had DC duties taken away. To go even further, he still has the title of DC on BYU's website so I have no reason to think or believe that he took a pay cut when Bronco took back major duties/responsibilities that a DC would normally do.

Now if you have read something stating that he did take a pay cut and I am wrong I am happy to read that. I've searched and I don't believe it exists because it didn't happen.
