ECU fan perspective (Some questions & analysis): (1) Will BYU be on its A game?
Some of your fan base doesn't even know who ECU is. I heard it's not gonna be sold out. After the 2 consecutive losses has some of the wind been taken out of the sails so to speak?

(2) Does your D perform better against mobile QBs or pocket passers?

(3) I know you guys have been plagued by injuries this year just like we have and I've heard you're getting a few back this week. What's the overall health of the team going into this week?

(4) What's the best way to slow down your offense? I saw a post on here explaining that if a team can get real physical with your tall WRs then it may frustrate them, is that true?

(5) I know that BYU has 'P5' aspirations just like we do but if the AAC continued to build its brand and received a substantial pay raise is there any scenario that could induce BYU to join in order to create an easier path to a New Years Day bowl?

Other thoughts:

- Your DC said that ECU is the 3rd best O faced so far this year (out of 5 games played thus far). Notwithstanding BYU's tough schedule so far, I know that our proud program takes that as a slight regardless of how much veracity that statement may hold.

- BYU is only the 4th game that we will have ever played against a team located west of Texas. We have beaten Stanford ('95 Liberty) and #21 Boise ('07 Hawaii) in bowl games and we lost to #3 Washington when we were down and they were in their prime back in '93. We really want to earn some respect out west because the casual fan out there doesn't really know much about us. Our program isn't really that much behind Boise State in our eyes. We usually play a much more difficult schedule then they do and we don't get the same publicity for getting 8-9 wins as BSU does for getting 10-11 wins every year. Keep in mind that a below average ECU (7-5) beat a 10-win ranked BSU in that Hawaii bowl.

- I was more confident about this game before it was announced that we'd be losing a starting CB and a premiere backup CB (the backup is actually our best who is a true freshman that was about to begin starting for us). Big losses from a team that has not had a healthy OL all year and who may start a QB that wasn't even on the 3-deep 2 weeks before the opener. Although some sun shiners are asserting that the ones filling the void are better match-ups against BYU.

- Interesting that these 2 programs have the highest attendance outside of the 'P5' and that this is the 1st ever meeting. I wonder after the game in Greenville if we'll renew the series anytime soon?

- I think your fans will be surprised by ECU's athleticism and physicality. We are the only football-first school in our state and we have a very refined and stable program right now which is why we are a tough out even in this 'rebuilding year plagued by injuries.' We have beaten all of our regional rivals (UNC, NCSU, & VT) multiple times in a row (also 5 consecutive against the ACC) and we are determined to continue to be the best football program in our state. Be prepared for a hard-nosed game tomorrow and may both our teams come away without further injury.
