I lived there 9 years...and ECU was easily a distant 5th in the state from a

football interest standpoint. Outside of 40 miles radius from Greenville (Wilson, Tarboro, Kinston, etc), no one really gives ECU much thought. To be fair, ECU is probably a better football team than given credit for, but the ACC schools are the focus and ECU is an afterthought.
