The discussion is not about the stupid stuff the players do it is about the

stupid stuff the fans do. Players on every team in every school will do stupid stuff. The HC office will handle things different if it is not well known but once it becomes part of the public discussion then the HC office will react different. Everyone, or nearly everone, may not agree with the HC office doing that but it is a fact of life we have to live with.

If we would stop airing dirty laundry then the coaches (and HC office when they are involved) are better able to do things in house.
