I completely agree
When did the term "honor code", suddenly lose the free agency of honor by self report? If someone screws up, shouldn't they be the one to come forth to their leaders, instead of having another student, a person on social media, or a Ute fan turn them in? If not, it should be simply changed to school code or code of conduct. I was really surprised to learn about the boxes around campus, with slips to anonymously turn another student in, it was really disappointing from both a fan and from a LDS standpoint. Can you imagine if they carried the same policy at our local Ward buildings? Repentance should never have to be public or forced, if it is to be sincere. The Honor Code could be a beautiful thing, if it was revised to simply be in line with a temple recommend standard, and left to a true honor system.
