Uh, look what group you're talking about.
Religious people with extremely high standards and a few very vocal ones with "holier than thou" attitudes and expectations who demand the toughest punishment. CB has a few of them. They're the type of people who go nuts on rules, encourage tattling so they can claim to be responsible for saving a soul, etc. etc. etc.
Of course they need to, but that's just not going to happen in a religious community, especially one where people feel the need to be in others' business so they can "help" or just because they have to know.
