Allright you've said enough without being corrected so here goes.
Look at the time stamp of this post.. I will GLADLY live feed or periscope you a video of my wife sitting at the counter right now.. STILL working.. She has a 7 to 4 contract time, (actually she also has extra time added onto that for some other stuff that she has to do weekly but its not but a couple.. she hasnt been to bed before midnight in over three weeks. STRAIGHT.. not just weekdays my friend..including weekends.
She has been teaching for 17 years.. has won teacher of teh year recently and been nominated several times.. She has never EVER in our entire marriage spent less than sixty hours a week for work( under normal circumstances). and the three months off is bull crap too.. We have had three "summer vacations over teh past three years that lasted over 10 days..I say that because there hasn't been a "time off in her career where she has had more than 21 days straight of no work.. EVER....
My aunts and cousins have been teachers, Grandfather in laws, friends, EX Girlfriends.. My dad retired and decided to teach for fun, nt for the money.

He is extremely analytical and because of how he is wired,he DID account for all his time spent "working" his total his first year was sixty eight hours a week, that dropped to sixty three his second year.Live with a teacher and you will constantly shake your head at them "doing stuff" for work that has to be done..so working..al the time throughout teh week outside of contract time. The shopping for school supplies and prep time alone is crazy. There isn't a secretary to do that for them. They have to spend time finding where to get supplies, then go get them... Time writing sub plans when they have mandatory meetings that they have to be at, It takes longer to write a sub plan by a long way than to follow a lesson plan .

Parent teacher conferences.. sub plans have to be written in many cases depending on when they are.
Fund raisers? Every school activity, dance festival,IEP meetings, various assessments for kids who need it, grading papers, entering grades.yeah no teacher I have ever known works only 40 hours a week.. its not possible.. at bare minmu they work forty five, the others are htting fifty regulalry with spikes up into the high sixties and mid 70's.

No summer training? Again categorically FALSE. Go ahead and look at the end of summer posts on this topic. I aleady hashed this out. Teachers meet, train, work, ALL SUMMER... not straight through, but here and there enough that they don't get three months off , that is for sure. Again three weeks before school starts EVERY year.. I can't nor my kids have a summer vacation, because my wife HAS TO BE AT WORK..as a teacher.

My wife each year writes a grant for some prep work in the summer for the extra time, sometimes it is accepted, most times it isn't, but eVERYTIME, her teams still meet to get theri crap done. They all have to be there for that time. so they all have to coordinate time with each other aroun d everyones plans.. guess what that does? ot breaks up the summer because it has to get done, yet if one person is on vacation week one, another week three, so on and so forth they find their week for the torgehter stuff, then their is their individula training that they have to do, then there is teh back to school three weeks prior to school starting they have to do... So yeah.. that three months off.. is bull crap.

This is just my wife... My aunts, my cohave all been tachers too.. M
