I don't think I have tipped less than 15% for a long time, but having grown up
in the restaurant business ( my parents and brothers owned a chain), and then having worked in a very, very nice 4 star place I know that the waiter's job is 50% sales and 50% service. If they do their job they get rewarded just like any sales job. If they don't they don't. I don't have too much patience for the outright cheap skates. FTR my last meat out....last week, we had a great server, very fast, prompt, happy to be there and we gave her 25%.

I hope the waiter/waitress spits in your food when you go out to eat. You can go ahead and try and argue why it's ok..

I think that if people want to not tip in a sit down restaurant they should tell the waiter beforehand
