How is it not optional?
Is there a law forcing people to tip? Do you get a citation for not tipping? Could the server sue you and win in court for not tipping?

it is 100% optional. The servers are given a wage. The places they work for are the ones stiffing them, not me. But guess what? it goes both ways. They agree to receive a lower wage knowing that people may tip or not. I have even gotten the automatic tips for larger parties removed because they cannot by law require me to pay it.

I think that if people want to not tip in a sit down restaurant they should tell the waiter beforehand
