Tanner's going against them in 2015, Troy in 2016.
And we're comparing the two QBs because that's what the original complaint was about, that Hans must be an idiot to say it's a toss up. I'm not saying that Troy is the better QB. Based on how he played last year he's an average QB at best, outside of one game (the USC game). But it's not ridiculous to say that it's a coin flip between Tanner and Troy, particularly since Tanner couldn't beat out Hill for last year's starting job. Now maybe Tanner has a Heisman-caliber season this year, but so far he's been average overall and bad against P5 teams. Saying his overall rating is better than Troy's is ridiculous, because most of Tanner's competition is garbage. Compare the AQBR against the actually difficult defenses, Troy's is better or on par (a coin flip). Want me to take out the bad defenses, like Arizona, ASU, and OSU? I'll be happy to do it. It'll change nothing.
