Those are the founding lies of Independence
As the situations stands now:
1. Less exposure: MWC or AAC would have to honor our TV agreement for us to join their league. They have shown a willingness to accept that in the past. If that cant change we cant join. However, it's not a deal breaker for the AAC and the MWC will have to accept it for fear of losing membership to an AAC westward expansion.
2. Less Money: see above. Money would be equal under the above terms.
3. Fewer fun games: false. Nothing prevents BYU from scheduling up for their 4 non con games. Under independence that's all the marquee games we get anyway. The games agisnt g5 competition gain added meaning and become more fun because there is something on the line. We could easily honor the best future games already scheduled while adding a MWC schedule with no real impact to our overall SOS.
4. Less prestige/recognition: false. Independence carries no prestige. Programs carry individual prestige and history, BYU keeps that in any conference situation. As it stands our season is over for national purposes. If we were in the MWC we could theoretically win run the conference table and be in the "best g5" conversation and have a shot at a major bowl. That's prestige and exposure we have no access to right now.
