With due respect Ben, I just listened to it again and that's not what he said.
You asked him if BYU could join and keep the TV rights and he said they wouldn't go for that because they don't want teams to be able to negotiate separate TV deals.
But he did not say that they wouldn't take BYU at all. If we were willing to give them our Tier 1 rights, I would guess he would be fine with that. He did say they weren't "in expansion mode" but that they would consider geography.
He actually even said he would consider doing a BYU-AAC scheduling deal similar to Notre Dame-AAC but that they hadn't pursued it all because he didn't get the sense that BYU would was interested at all (with the caveat that he didn't want people to think he was exploring it because he wasn't).
