He mailed it in with many of the big fish. He also wasn't great at talent evaluation. His classes were mostly low hanging fruit that would have come to BYU under almost any coach. He reeled a couple per class based on effort, but it was the assistants that were putting in the work.
BYU has many draws and kids don't think nearly as irrationally as many on this board. They see an opportunity for early playing time and that the coaches will prepare them for the NFL. These coaches will do a better job at that than Bronco. The season would have looked a lot different with good QB play
