Call it whatever it is, but as a result, not one player to me seems like they are better player this year than last year.. That has to be coaching... Im not involved with practices to see whats causing it, but I'm guessing its a mixture of lack of a "true system" for our players to work within, including a system at practices that in turn improves our players...
A lack of discipline and work effort in practices.. I have not heard one player say that they've worked the hardest they've ever worked before this year....
A deep understanding of schemes at this level.. No doubt there is plenty of historical "football playing" experience among the staff, but few of them have coached extensively in the D1 college level. This is a major disadvantage for developing our own scheme and also protecting against other team's gameplans..
Kalani needs to beef up his coaching staff with some more current college coaches... especially on the offensive side. He also needs to become more involved on defense and find out how to blitz effectively.
