Heaps looked good against bad teams...
I am not ready to say that BYU offense and heaps are ready to roll against the tough schedule they have. BYU lit it up at certain times last season

BYU 55 UNLV 7- UNLV ranked 116th in the nation on defense giving up 40 pts per game.
BYU 49 CSU 10- CSU ranked 104th in the nation giving up 34.7 pts per game.
BYU 40 UNM 7- New Mexico ranked 120th in the nation giving up 44.3 pts per game.
BYU 52 Utep 24- Utep was better ranked 66th in the nation giving up 28 pts per game.

Now lets look at games against teams with a good D and see how heaps and the BYU offense did.
BYU 3 TCU 31- TCU was ranked #1 in the nation giving up 12 pts per game
BYU 14 Airforce 35- Airforce was ranked # 28 in nation giving up 21 pts per game
BYU 10 Florida State 34- Florida State ranked 20th in nation giving up 20 pts per game.
BYU 16 Utah 17- Utah ranked 24th in nation avg 20.3 pts per game.

Bottom line is BYU's offense looked very good against teams with bad defense. Looked very subpar against teams with good defense. So until Jake shows me something against good defense, I'm not going to say BYU has a great season or that Jake Heaps is the next Steve Young.

All these stats came from http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/schedule/_/id/252/year/2010/brigham-young-cougars and then clicking on the teams they played and looking at there defense stats.
