Stats also found at cfbstats.com. I have said the
same thing like 5 times on this board.

Something about my screen name having a 'ute' in it, I suppose, makes CBers not listen.

One thing to add to your analysis.......

Games BYU had high rushing yards are games they won. The run sets up the pass? More balanced? Don't know. I do know that when teams can run, they typically win. Scoring and time management are obvious keys to the offensive success of any team.

Against the four bad teams on your list, BYU averaged like 240 yards per game.

Against the 3 better teams listed above, BYU averaged like 65 yards per game. I excluded AF because BYU actually ran pretty well gainst them, with over 200 yards rushing. Still lost that one pretty baddly though. AF was a pretty good team last season.

Finally, UTEP was just as bad as the others but had a very strong first half of the season. They were brutal the second half but their season stats were bolstered by the first half.

One other thing you should have shown. Those same teams were among the worst offensively as well. Very low scoring on the season. Most ranked in the bottom 20 of all D-1 programs for last season.

Out of 120 teams, BYU did well against the teams ranked in the bottom 15-20. NM was #120.

BYU won only 1 road game. CSU at CSU. They were terrible.
