Potential is just that. Now, there are explanations (excuses)...
1. He was a freshman. I agree - we MAY have been better off redshirting him so that he could get some experience and growth at the college level. Most (if not all) of our successful QBs spent their early years learning the system.
2. 2 system QB. If he was so good, why didn't he demonstrate that on the field and make it so blatantly obvious who the better QB was that there was no choice but to play him?
3. Bad OC. Beck and Hall didn't do so shabby with the same OC.
I do think Heaps is going to be a stud. I do believe that he overachieved last year (if you look at our record, in general, we are NOT the best team against the truly top 10 competition, like TCU).
