but this has not happened. I'm by no means a Rose-hater and recognize he has had success. But the trend is flat to slipping. For example:
In 6 seasons as HC in the MWC, Rose had an average record of 26.5 wins and 7.5 losses.
In 6 seasons as HC in the WCC, Rose has an average record of 24.3 wins and 11 losses.
In MWC conference finishes, Rose led teams finished 1st 3 times, 2nd 2 times, and 3rd 1 time.
In WCC conference finishes, Rose led teams finished 1st 0 times, 2nd 2 times, and 3rd 4 times.
In MWC tournaments, Rose led teams had a record of 8-6.
In WCC tournaments, Rose led teams have a record of 7-6.
In the NCAA tournament as a member of the MWC, Rose had a record of 3-5.
In the NCAA tournament as a member of the WCC, Rose has a record of 0-2.
In the NIT tournament as a member of the MWC, Rose had a record of 0-1.
In the NIT tournament as a member of the WCC, Rose has a record of 6-3.
So the only statistic that has improved for Rose since the change to the WCC is NIT victories. And he has spent equal time in both conferences. He does hold the record at BYU for most consecutive 20-win seasons which is no small feat.
The other somewhat negative in my eyes is pulling 4 players from the same local high school (Mika, Emery, Haws, Frampton) as well as their head coach (Quincy Lewis). This makes me wonder if BYU is recruiting as far and wide as they should and finding the needed talent. Perhaps moving to the WCC is part of the talent slip and that has impacted things.
