Post of the Off Season - Amen brother
The unrealistic expectations are just hilarious. Lack of post season success is just a ridiculous criticism. Objectively, BYU is not even close to Gonzaga. We should not EXPECT Coach Rose to beat them in the conference tournament. That would be a huge coup.

Then there is the equally ridiculous indictment about not developing players. In the last 10 years BYU has had more truly great players than in the entire history of the program. Coach Rose took a nobody with limited athleticism from the middle of nowhere rural New York and turned him into the consensus NPOY. Seriously! Jackson Emery, Tyler Haws, Davies, Hartsock, K Collinsworth, Abouo, N Emery, Mika and on and on. None of those guys had NBA type of athleticism or skill. Coach Rose and his system created those players and yet our ignorant fan base does nothing but bash him.

Mika is just the latest classic example. During the season, all the talk on here was how Mika was the best player of all time and Coach Rose is wasting this once in a generation talent. Then, Mika declares for the draft and suddenly, he is a bum that just overachieved because of the system and has no business trying to go to the NBA. Does nobody else see the absolutely ludicrous lack of logic?

Here are the facts. Dave Rose is a great coach. His system creates amazing offense and attracts better talent than BYU has ever had. The BYU program has lost some great assistant coaches during this era, mostly to promotions. 2016 was a down year with many injuries and transitions. Just take last year for what it was. Trust me, the grass is not always greener.

So do improvements need to be made? Of course, always and in every thing in life. But, there is not many other coaches in the entire country that I would trust more than Coach Rose to do it.
