and other things that get said about coaches imply that the writer is trying to figure out why the coach isn't getting better results and then attributing a character flaw to the coach to help it make sense to the writer. And there were many more character flaws attributed to the prior coaching staff.
I don't know how else to interpret, "I'm tired of his MO" than "I'm tired of him making bad decisions when he knows better." I can accept that isn't what you meant though.
