If he were still pumping out seasons like he did pre-2012 seasons then you would see FAR less criticism. The program has not been as good lately and we have had weak schedules.
I really don't care what past coaches at BYU have done---A really good coach with decent facilities and a massive Mormon base should be able to get BYU to being a consistent NCAA team. Rose used to have BYU there---but the trend has been alarming and even more than the trend some of his schemes have been red flags to those who understand analytics and have coaching experience.
I think Rose will get it somewhat turned around this year, though.
