Football is different than basketball in that football players have only one

avenue to really play professionally (NFL) whereas basketball players have global opportunities to make a living playing their sport. I'm not saying it necessarily made sense for either Mika or Bryant, but they definitely had opportunities that a good-but-not-NFL-talent football underclassman would have.
