The only, rare, exceptions I can think of are when the spouse is also a high
level collegiate athlete. In those cases the spouse understands the time commitment, etc. For example, I don't think Kyle Collinsworth was negatively impacted by his marriage to Track & Field All-American Shea Martinez, at least not from a commitment to training aspect.

I don't want to tell anyone how to live their life, but if my kid/spouse were a college athlete I'd stay far away from
