My best friends son transferred. He left BYU as a Junior and went to University

Is he really struggling in class? If so, perhaps he transfers to BYUI? I'm not

the institute at OSU is great

If he stays in his apt only, his experience would likely not be much different

It wasn't clear from the OP, but it sounds like he's back home in Oregon doing school remotely.

Correct, but when he was on campus, it sounds like he stayed in the apt.

BYU recommend students to stay in their rooms, and he is not social butterfly

I've gone on lots of walks around campus. Gives me something to cut through all the boring. Lots of great hikes and

I'd agree with this. Impossible to judge any college based on this year. I'd see if he'd be willing to come to campus

He is thinking of doing BYU online in the fall, on campus winter

I'd suggest sooner rather than later if he's willing.

If the issue is getting out of the apt then a change of venue is likely a good

A lot schools are going to not give him credit for classes he will take at BYU

depends on the class. Religion and wellness classes don't transfer. I'd

That's likely only true for religion courses. Any general ed he took will transfer.

BYU unique classes like American Heritage won't. Religious classes of course.

Probably just religion & Amer Heritage. Without seeing the classes specifically, that sounds like a UH problem.

Why wouldn't classes transfer (outside of religion courses)?

This year, with COVID has been so, so weird, do you think he'd be happier at BYU

I think so, he went to the 3-4 FHE group event they had.. hard to make friends

I'd say that you try to convince him to give it a go for even one more semester.

Remote college sucks. I would get him on campus as soon as you can, the restrictions aren't bad at all.

Even this semester has a lot more happening in person at BYU, especially if you're seeking it out.
