With testimony issues, honestly a non-BYU school may be best.

Hear me out. A lot of people who are on the fence encounter a lot of the negative sides of having so many members around them. The cultural impact can really draw focus away from the spiritual side. Being in an environment where you don’t have to deal with the unfortunate culture side that can happen at BYU, they nay be able to better develop their testimony. Just my two cents.

I'd agree with this. Impossible to judge any college based on this year. I'd see if he'd be willing to come to campus

That's likely only true for religion courses. Any general ed he took will transfer.

Remote college sucks. I would get him on campus as soon as you can, the restrictions aren't bad at all.
