It really depends on the school

Our old Bishop's son transferred from BYUI to Ohio State (main campus) a few years back, and they gave him general ed credits for all of his religion classes (including BOM). That said, I've heard a lot more stories about religion credits not transferring to state schools. Utah schools, in particular, are pretty militant about it.

That's likely only true for religion courses. Any general ed he took will transfer.

Remote college sucks. I would get him on campus as soon as you can, the restrictions aren't bad at all.
