You fell into my trap
Tuaki's entire rationale for his defensive scheme is to create mental pressure to force the QB to make poor mental decisions and turn the ball over. Even he understands his job is to get the ball as many times more as possible than his opponent.

BYU's defense was on the field for 880 plays, their offense for 868. That's a difference of 0.92 plays per game.

We had one of the top offenses in the country and still were at a deficit. The defense is the reason.

BYU led the nation in total offense in 1984 and only ran 2.5 plays per game more than their opponents
