Yea we did but...that was the only game all year that Tuiaki altered his
defensive philosophy of almost never blitzing and being very predicable sitting back with a 3 man line and the linebackers playing very deep.
And guess what-it worked. So if it worked then, why not run that kind of defense more often, like always. And yes, I am one of those that does not like Tuiaki's boring defense, except for the Utah game where, as I mentioned, he completely changed his defensive philosophy.

BYU's defense was on the field for 880 plays, their offense for 868. That's a difference of 0.92 plays per game.

That proves his point; the defense is supposed to get off the field, the offense is supposed to stay on the field

I don't think Tuiaki is without fault — I just find some of the specific criticisms not to be particularly good

We had one of the top offenses in the country and still were at a deficit. The defense is the reason.

BYU led the nation in total offense in 1984 and only ran 2.5 plays per game more than their opponents
