There are tons of legit criticisms. Points per drive is not good.

In too many games they rarely got a stop when they really needed to get a stop. Not just in the bowl game. But in the BSU game, the UVA game, and others.

And it's nice that they occasionally blitzed. Problem is, any time they blitzed it was absolutely telegraphed exactly when and where the blitz was coming from, therefore mostly negating the effectiveness of the occasional blitz they ran. Watching any other good defense compared to ours was night and day in this respect especially.

BYU's defense was on the field for 880 plays, their offense for 868. That's a difference of 0.92 plays per game.

We had one of the top offenses in the country and still were at a deficit. The defense is the reason.
