Don't pretend that it's an easy thing to do. These players are coddled and pretty much worshiped their entire lives. When they come in, and the coach tells you to do a few things differently than you have done them your whole life, it takes some skill to convince the players you are right.
Buying in has nothing to do with being a good honest person. It's way more about how hard you are willing to work. And if you are willing to pay the price to be a good player. Howell couldn't convince some guys to work their hardest. That's a serious coaching failure. But, those players deserve just as much blame as Howell for not working hard enough.
