Honor Code policies will protect students from harm
Such as don't get high and don't enter bedrooms of the opposite sex. Follow those rules and the chances of a student being hurt are greatly reduced. So if a student breaks these rules and gets hurt I suppose one might say the student has suffered consequences for rule breaking. However the honor code is also a commitment to the school, which means the student needs to be accountable to the school for rule violations, even if the student has paid a personal price for rule violations.

To not have unequivocal standard is to invite the problem of students falsely claiming to be a victim of assault in order to avoid responsibility. The Duke Rape case hoax originated from such a scenario. The stripper falsely claimed assault in order to avoid consequences with child services when she was found high in her parked car.
