Just ballparking it based on Google Maps, the stadium is about 0.5 miles or more
from campus. Most people don't like to drive more than a few blocks to church or they'll circle a parking lot for 5 minutes so they don't have to walk more than 20 yards. It's perfectly understandable that students wouldn't be content walking 20 minutes just to get to their car every day.
