Other than heritage. If you want to live somewhere where you can have a car, then live somewhere else.

The fact is that if you want to park at BYU you can. There are plenty of parking spots. Like I said below, in my 7 years of attending BYU I was always able to find a parking spot (this included when parking was free a couple years ago). The needs are being fulfilled. The problem is that many student want to park and walk 100 yards to class. At a major universities this is impossible. The walk from the LES to campus is one of the most reasonable ones I have ever seen at any university. Major universities like BYU often have no parking for students at all and undergraduates are forced to live on campus.
