I've lived at the Village for two years. No one I know parks at the MC.
In fact I don't know a person with a student parking pass that doesn't need one due to work and time constraints. If you work in Orem and need to get to class quickly it makes sense to get a pass rather than drive to The Village and walk. That's the only people I know with a parking pass at all.
