Holiday Bowl 1984. My family filled up an almost complete row on the 40 yard line to watch the game. We had two obnoxious and riled up Michigan fans sitting right behind us for most of the game, in a largely BYU fan section. They were already lit up before the game started, but kept running back for more beer. Our family is a generally quiet bunch, and just ignored the rude and stupid Comments throughout the game. Making comments about Mormons and "come on Donnie and Marie!" were being said repetitively. You would think they were yewt fans, because it felt like they were there to cheer against byu rather than for their team.

They really cheered loud when Boscoe went down with the late hit on his knee, so that really angered people around them. I guess we could've put up with the sophomoric verbal assault, but what was starting To get real old was the repeated times they would stand up to cheer and spilling beer on top of our heads consistently, especially my two parents in their 70's. Some of it was accidental, but I'm sure they enjoyed dropping beer on theses Mormons heads. I could see was brewing from where I was sitting. I have an older sister sitting by my parents, who is short and headstrong, and finally she had enough. She turned around and told him to watch the beer spilling or we were going to ask security to have them removed. They laughed and said "oh, we're real sorry".

Well, it happened again after a Bosco interception, and a bunch got spilled on my Moms head. My sister spun around, grabbed the beer out of guys hand, and tossed about a half a cup directly into his crotch. She then said oops, I'm so sorry, hope That didn't get you too wet! The guy was furious but before he could say anything the whole crowd around us erupted in cheers & laughing and pointing at him. We learned after the fact that several people had been watching this whole situation developing. Well, after this, he and his buddy rather than do anything with everyone around, just stormed off and never came back for the rest of the game. It was a classic & epic thing to see, and something I'll never forget. You had to of been there!
