Thin skinned?
Do you not think this happens everywhere? Drive a OSU car or hang a OSU flag in Ann Arbor what happens? I have seen lame things like this happen by BYU fans too.
Not justifying it but it is not rampant or as broad as you portray it. Sports are sports, Utah is our rival so you expect more.
I would guess in reality there are many more good fans than you expect. The few experiences seem to shape your entire view and you cannot get past it. It is like me judging BYU fans based on the times Detmer throws a pick and they want him benched, they guy who brings in 5 little kids and he has snuck in food, the BYU fan yelling church based insults at non-member fans, BYU fan taunting med school students that they could not get into the Y, racial comments etc etc......I don't want to be judged by the moronic BYU fans and my guess is good Utah fans don't want to be judged by their bad fans.
Sounds like you should take a visit or two outside Utah every once in a while.
