Because the rest is crap science man. Do pull ups regularly correctly and time how long it takes to get your heart rate up..add a belt and a 25 lb weight and see what your heart rate is after three pull ups ... plus you haven't injured yourself by doing pull ups with bad form.
This isn't a knock on you bro.. I just hate seeing things that are guaranteed to be bad for you when a safer more effective alternative exists.
