No. The Mechanic says waht the price of x is and fixes it. If he finds more, he
re-quotes it.

A lawyer submits a budget for a case of x and says assuming these things happen. If something else comes up our budget may go up and here is the hourly rate. If that something else comes up, that would be added to the budget. The lawyer would tell the client how likely that is to happen, which is much harder to gauge than in a surgery.
