Bronco saved the program from a mess and it is a mess with him gone.

2012 was sad, but can't fault Bronco for having #1 qb not pan out and Taysom Hill getting injured. I think you've done your job with QBs if you have that in the stable, Just bad luck.

For BYU to have a special year, they NEED some luck and things to line up. No matter how good the coach is. Bronco was not low upside, would've been just fine if Heaps panned out or with a senior taysom/jamaal.

LaVell had a great record. Nothing Bronco did would surpass him. LaVell also played in a easier era for BYU to compete and most of those seasons were played against much easier competition, so it's not really an apples to apples comparison. We are in a different era and we are seeing how hard BYU will have it to compete at the highest level. Bronco at least had us in the conversation for many years.

Last year was more than just a bad year. It was a complete disaster.
