There are 2 reasons for kids to go to camps imo:
1. Have fun
2. Motivation to work hard
Schools do them for 1 reason: fundraise
Once in high school the coaches will evaluate talent and this is where they will decide to offer many kids and do a little skill training to build relationships with those recruits
